How to take Care of YOU this Winter

  1. Moisturize the skin. Cold weather is tough on the skin. Moisturize everyday. I use the EOS Shea Body Lotion.
  2. Use a Humidifier. Dry air can pull the moisture from your skin. Room humidifiers can be very beneficial. However, be sure to clean the unit and change the water according to the manufacturer’s instructions to reduce mold and fungi.
  3. Hydrate. Because the cold weather is drying for months, and because we’re not as likely to eat those cold watery foods that we need to make sure we’re drinking enough water. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day.
  4. Ditch the Hot Showers. As tempting as it can be to come in from the cold and hop in a piping hot shower or bath, it can lead to dry, flaking skin, especially if your skin is already on the dry side. Dermatologists advise taking lukewarm showers instead.
  5. Keep yourself Warm. Leggings under jeans will help keep you warm. Use a cozy blanket to sleep.
  6. Stay warm by Eating Hot Foods. If your Mexican, caldos and sopitas de fideo are gonna be your go-to’s.
